Brandon A. Cook
Associate
Brandon is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice focuses on business and complex commercial litigation, including helping companies navigate their rights and obligations in corporate transactions and contractual deals. In addition, Brandon represents banks in debt workout arrangements, and select clients in high-value asset family law matters.
As a strong writer and diligent advocate, Brandon is often entrusted with being the “fact expert” on a case, managing the discovery process and preparing key motions. While there may be a number of approaches or outcomes that would satisfy a client, his focus is achieving the best right result for their business.
Prior to joining Smith Hulsey & Busey, Brandon served as a judicial extern for Judge Harvey E. Schlesinger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Brandon graduated from the University of Florida College of Law, where he served as president of the Florida Moot Court Team and editor for the University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy. He studied political science and economics as an undergraduate at the University of South Florida.
Best Lawyers in America recently named Brandon a 2023 “One to Watch” in Commercial Litigation.
